I don’t want to get all apocalyptic here but there are some topics that need to get adressed.

Peak Oil is the point in time when oil production reaches its maximimum. After this “Peak” oil production declines dramatically. If you take into account how much around us is made out of oil, you realize how devastating living on earth without oil would be.

We reached this point years ago. Wether this is a problem for humanity or not is up to your decision. Watch these Videos and decide for yourself.

If you want to watch only one documentary this year, let it be “Collapse” by Michael Ruppert.

Documentaries, videos and speeches on the subject of Peak Oil after the break.

Every movement needs its leader. The leader of the “Peak Oil” movement is Michael Ruppert. Even though his last name is the same of that poor kid we beat up every day in high school, I still find him to be insanely educated and informative. He is just a little extreme.

His Book is insanley interesting and the documentary on the subject is probably one of the best documentaries I have seen in the last year.

A MUST WATCH: COLLAPSE

Either way, this additional short talk of him in front of a lot of “Peak Oil” followers is as much “preaching to the choir” as you can get but a nice welcome to get started on the topic of peak oil.

The subect of peak oil isn’t new though and people have warned about peak oil for years. One very educational lecture of Albert Bartlett tries to show you the energy crisis by teaching arithmetics.

Titled “the most important video you will ever see” I grew high expectations watching the first minutes. Actually I hated statistics and arithmatics in university but this is truely worth your time. Even if you are not interested in “Peak Oil”.

So with all this nighmareish views on the future, there are still people declaring it to be not as bad.
A short but informative TED talk brightens it by declaring the “Oil Age” ending as much as the “Iron Age”

The last ted talk I want to show you is more about solving the problem. Still its very much worth your time if you are interested in the subject. Amory Lovins gives some insights in how we can deal with all this mess.

Thank you for taking the time and reading, watching and listening to all this. I would very much appreciate you thoughts on the subect in the comments.
